If you’d asked me a decade ago where I’d be today, I’m not sure I could have imagined this exact path. From studying industrial design to building AI-powered SaaS platforms, the journey has been anything but linear—but that’s precisely what makes it exciting.
Today, I stand at the intersection of two fields I deeply admire: design and artificial intelligence. But let me be clear: I still feel like I’m at the very beginning of this journey. Every milestone I’ve achieved is just a stepping stone toward something far greater. Along the way, I’ve been privileged to work with amazing people, and I hope my experiences can help others shape their own paths.
Design: The Foundation of My Journey
When I first stepped into the world of design, I didn’t realize how far it could take me. My academic foundation is rooted in some of the most rigorous programs out there:
• BSc in Industrial Product Design at Politecnico di Milano.
• MSc in Integrated Product Design at Politecnico di Milano.
• MA in Innovation and Strategic Design at Beijing Tsinghua University.
These degrees weren’t just pieces of paper—they were transformative experiences that taught me how to think critically, creatively, and strategically.
I’ve also been fortunate to contribute to groundbreaking research:
• At Polifactory, I explored digital fabrication and generative design in what was one of the first studies in this field, funded by the EU.
• With the Laboratorio Colore, I worked on identity design projects that merged technical precision with creativity.
• In the Environmental Design and Multisensory Experience Lab (EDME), I contributed to foundational research that emphasized the role of design in shaping human experiences.
Beyond academia, I’ve spoken at national and international design events, taught for years at Politecnico di Milano (the world’s largest design university and ranked among the global top 10), and led branding and art direction projects for universities and global enterprises. From Burger King to IULM University, I’ve applied design principles to create impactful, human-centered solutions.
Design isn’t just a skill set—it’s a way of thinking. And that mindset has carried me into the next chapter of my career.
AI: The Next Frontier
If design taught me how to think, artificial intelligence taught me how to rethink. My fascination with AI began long before the hype around ChatGPT. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on projects that explore the full spectrum of AI capabilities: text, speech, music, 3D, images, and all of their potential overlaps.
In 2019, as previously mentioned, I participated in a research project that explored the potential of generative 3D design for digital fabrication. Shortly afterward, I worked on a large-scale generative design project that pushed the boundaries of computational power. The research group I collaborated with secured special permissions from Autodesk and AWS to run an intensive, cloud-based computation. Over two weeks of generative iterations on a 6 cubic meters 3D model, we produced a final 500+ GB file with billions of polygons. This file was instrumental in helping Autodesk fine-tune their generative AI for Fusion 360. At the time, it was the largest project in Europe in terms of both file size and computational requirements.
At MeetGeek, I’ve been part of an incredible team pushing the boundaries of AI in the SaaS space. I co-founded Corporate-FM, where I led the development of Intra.FM, an AI-powered podcast platform long before the buzz around similar tools like NotebookLM.
I’ve also contributed to the first consumer app designed to bring AutoGPT to every device. While the project succeeded as a technology, it fell short as a business. But failures like these are where the real learning happens—they’ve sharpened my skills in prompt engineering, LLM application design, and AI agent development.
My latest AI venture is Blink Bytes, a company I founded to develop the world’s first AI-based website management system. It’s an ambitious vision, but ambition is the fuel that keeps me going.
I believe AI is reshaping the future of work and society, and I’m committed to building thoughtful, responsible innovations that balance bold ambition with safety and accessibility, embracing its limitless potential from a designer perspective.
Philosophy: Why I Do What I Do
Challenges Are the Best Teachers
I’ve always believed that to grow, you need to step outside your comfort zone. Whether it’s launching a new product, exploring a different industry, or collaborating with unfamiliar technologies, challenges are opportunities to learn.
Mistakes? I welcome them. As Oscar Wilde said:
Experience is just the name we give to our errors.
Every failure has brought me closer to success.
Success Is Personal
For me, success isn’t about titles or millions in revenue—it’s about creating something meaningful. It’s about building a company where employees are happy, motivated, and empowered. It’s about crafting solutions that make life easier, even in small ways.
Integrity Over Shortcuts
I value honesty and integrity above all else. In a world that often prioritizes quick wins, I prefer to play the long game. This means making decisions that align with my principles, even if it costs more in the short term.
Everything Is Design
To me, design is everywhere. It’s not just about making things look good—it’s about making them work better. Whether it’s a product, a process, or a business strategy, everything can be designed with intention and empathy.
Teaching Through Design
I believe everything is design. Whether it’s crafting a product, building a relationship, or mentoring a team, the principles of design apply. It’s about creating environments where creativity thrives and projects succeed. Teaching and mentoring are not about imposing my views but collaborating to discover shared solutions. Everyone has something to teach, and I remain open to learning from those around me.
Aiming for the Stars
My legacy is simple: I want to build good products, create happy workplaces, and live a meaningful life. I don’t aim to change the world, but I hope to improve it. I love the quote:
If you aim for the moon and miss, you’ll still land among the stars.
My projects are ambitious, driven by the belief that striving for greatness—no matter the outcome—leaves an undeniable impact.
Looking Ahead
As much as I’ve accomplished, I know there’s so much more to do. I’m grateful for the incredible teams and collaborators who’ve shared this journey with me, and I’m excited to meet the people who’ll join me in the future.
AI and design are evolving rapidly, and I’m committed to staying at the forefront. The road ahead is long, but that’s what makes it exciting. I hope my journey inspires others to embrace challenges, value collaboration, and stay curious.
If you’re reading this, maybe our paths will cross. After all, the best journeys are the ones we take together.
